Jim Proud

Course Superintendent

Jim Proud is the course superintendent of Gray Eagle Golf Club, responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the course. Originally from Greenville, Pa., he worked for 13 years as a foreman for RN Thompson Construction prior to assuming course superintendent responsibilities at Gray Eagle Golf Club. Proud graduated Wapahani High School in Selma, Ind., and attended Edison Junior College in Fort Myers, Fla. He resides in Fishers with wife, Lisa.

Scott Morris

PGA Professional Teaching Professional

Originally from Indianapolis and PGA professional since 1980, Scott Morris teaches golf to adults and juniors as individuals or groups and is responsible for the planning and development of Junior Golf programs at Gray Eagle Golf Club, Ironwood Golf Club and Winding Ridge Golf Club. An accomplished player, most recently Morris qualified for the 2009 U.S. Senior Open at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Ind. He is a two-time Indiana Section Assistants champion, a two-time Pete Dye National Pro-Am champion and a 15-time Indiana Challenge Cup participant. Prior to joining Ironwood Golf Club, Morris was head PGA professional at Royal Highlands Golf Club in Knightstown, Ind., assistant golf professional at Harbour Trees Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind., and assistant golf professional at Brookshire Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. Today residing in Carmel, he graduated Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis and attended both Depauw and Indiana universities.

Michael Zedrick III

PGA Professional Teaching Professional

Michael Zedrick is the Director of Instruction at the Smock Driving Range and Learning Center located adjacent to the golf course on Todd Road. He is responsible for all private and group instruction, as well as, clinics and the junior golf program.

Michael has an extensive background in teaching working for several of the best instructors in the Midwest and the country. He began his career as an assistant in Danville, Illinois where he learned under the former coach at Methodist University who won 7 Women's Division III National Titles. Following his time in Danville he worked under Jan Tellstrom for a year at Smock and was part of the award winning junior golf program. He went back to Danville where he then worked under 2 time Central Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year. After becoming a member of the PGA of America he spent 2 years as an assistant at the TPC Scottsdale and was hired to work with the ESPN Golf Schools under the leadership of Hank Haney. Michael spent the last 4 years as Head Golf Professional at the Kanakaee Elks C.C. and Stonhenge G. & C.C. before returning to Smock this spring.

A graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a degree in business management, he became an assistant in 1995. In 2000, Michael was elected to membership in the PGA of America.

Michael has recently been certified as a Titleist Performance Institute instructor. All lesson instruction is now available with V1 Swing Analysis and access to their own online swing locker.

Michael lives on the south side of Indy with his wife Jodi and two boys, Michael IV and Lane.
